Turning off Pop Up Pages

Pop up pages on a website are used for things such as advertising.  These can be very annoying when you are looking at the screen because they block part of the view, and interfere with an activity you are doing.  If you are using a screen reader they are terrible.  You might be reading an item, and suddenly something else begins being spoken, and you have no idea where it came from, or why it came.  There is a pop up blocker build into most web browsers.  In the case of Internet Explorer, press and hold down the Alt key and hit the letter "t" to move to the "Tools" menu.  Release the keys.  Down arrow to "Pop Up Blocker," right arrow one time, and hit Enter on "Turn Off Pop Up Blocker."  In the case of Firefox, press and hold down the Alt key and hit the letter "t" to move to the "Tools" menu.  Down arrow to "Options" and hit Enter.  Right arrow to "Content."  Tab one time and hit the spacebar on the checkbox that says "Block Pop Up Windows."  Hit Enter one time.  In both cases you can turn of pop up windows, and in both cases you can use the same process to turn pop up windows back on.

NOTE: A pop up has been made for this page. Either move the mouse around the screen or hit the Alt key to have the item pop up. Listen to it and then hit the Escape key to close the pop up. Notice how it affects what you are trying to read.
